Game Preview: The Blackfalds Bulldogs will search for their second straight win Sunday in Canmore after recording their first regular season victory in franchise history Sept. 18 in Olds when they beat the Grizzlys 5-4. The Bulldogs have had over a week off and should be well-rested for Sunday afternoon’s tilt with the Eagles. Blackfalds is 1-1 on the season.
Meantime, the Eagles will be looking for a bounce-back effort after falling 7-4 Friday in Okotoks versus the Oilers. Canmore is off to a 2-1 start to its campaign. Sunday’s meeting between Blackfalds and Canmore is the first of six matchups between the two clubs throughout the 2021-22 AJHL season.

Six Firsts: Jayden Joly, Conrad Mitchell, Spencer Bell, Kai Matthew and Ryan Johnson all scored their first AJHL goals Sept. 18 in Olds. Meanwhile, goalie Lucas Massie made 33 saves for his first AJHL win.
Big Night for Uganecz: It was an impressive offensive evening for defenceman Kyle Uganecz last Saturday in Olds. The Lac La Biche product recorded four assists during the game. He was involved in the first four goals for the Bulldogs.
New Additions: The Bulldogs could have two new players in the lineup Sunday in Canmore. Blackfalds acquired 2001-born defenceman Juliano Santalucia and 2001-born defenceman Corey McCann last week in separate deals. Santalucia was traded from the Calgary Canucks in exchange for a PDF and future considerations. The Bulldogs received McCann from the West Kelowna Warriors (BCHL) in exchange for a PDF. Santalucia is in his fifth season of junior hockey and McCann is in his third.
