Lott perfect as Bulldogs blank Crusaders

The Blackfalds Bulldogs blanked the Sherwood Park Crusaders 4-0 Wednesday evening at the Eagle Builders Centre.

Affiliate goalie Brock Lott got the start for the Bulldogs and he didn’t disappoint, posting a 29-save shutout in his first AJHL start. The Rimbey, AB product plays for the SAHA U18 Prep team and has been on the Blackfalds bench this season in a backup role occasionally.

Tye Carriere scored twice for the Bulldogs Wednesday, while Brendan Ross and Carter Yarish also found the back of the net. Gus Bylin turned away 27 shots in a losing cause for the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 22-28-1 on the campaign, which now has them in fifth in the AJHL South.

Blackfalds will look to keep the good times rolling Friday night in Olds when they take on the Grizzlys for the sixth time this season. The Bulldogs have won all five previous matchups.

Blackfalds will conclude its weekend Saturday in Camrose versus the Kodiaks.
