Game Preview: The Blackfalds Bulldogs will try and make it three straight wins Friday night when they entertain the Olds Grizzlys. The Bulldogs are coming off a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory Wednesday on home ice versus the Drumheller Dragons. Blackfalds sits sixth in the AJHL South with its 17-25-1 record.
The Olds Grizzlys will be looking to end a 20-game losing streak Friday night in Blackfalds. Olds dropped its last game 7-4 on Tuesday in Okotoks. The Grizzlys sit last in the AJHL South with their 5-34-4 record. The Bulldogs have won both previous meetings this season versus the Grizzlys. It was Blackfalds taking the last matchup 6-3 in Olds back on Oct. 27.

Showcase Coming to Blackfalds: The Blackfalds Bulldogs have been selected as hosts of the 2022 Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) Showcase.
All 16 AJHL teams will compete in two regular season games at the 16th annual Showcase, which attracts thousands of fans and over 200 members of the scouting community. The annual showcase of AJHL talent draws coaches and scouts from each National Hockey League (NHL) team, NCAA Division I, II and III schools, as well as Canadian colleges and universities and the Canadian Hockey League (CHL).
A full schedule for the 2022 AJHL Showcase, which will be held at the end of September, will be announced alongside the League Schedule in July 2022.
Joly Commits: The Blackfalds Bulldogs announced Thursday that 2004-born forward Jayden Joly has committed to Western Michigan University. The Fort Saskatchewan, AB product has recorded eight goals and 12 assists in 42 games this season with the Bulldogs.
Looking Ahead: The Blackfalds Bulldogs will conclude their weekend Saturday at home versus the Olds Grizzlys. The Bulldogs will then get set for three games next week. Blackfalds will travel to Drumheller Jan. 25 before hosting Drumheller Jan. 28 and Okotoks Jan. 29.
