GAME PREVIEW: Blackfalds VS Olds

Game Preview: The Blackfalds Bulldogs will look for their fourth straight win Saturday at home when they entertain the Olds Grizzlys. The Bulldogs are coming off a 6-5 overtime victory Friday at the Eagle Builders Centre versus the Grizzlys. Blackfalds sits sixth in the AJHL South with its 18-25-1 record.

The Olds Grizzlys will try and end a 21-game slide Saturday night in Blackfalds. The Grizzlys are last in the AJHL South with their 5-34-5 record. The Grizzlys last win came back on Nov. 13 when they tamed the Calgary Canucks 3-2 in overtime. Blackfalds leads the season series with Olds 3-0.

Magic Man: Blackfalds Bulldogs forward Nick Magis scored twice Friday, including the game-winner in overtime. The Leduc, AB product has 25 points in 40 games this season with the Bulldogs. Magis spent the previous two campaigns with the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

Homestand Ends: The Blackfalds Bulldogs will see their seven-game homestand come to an end following Saturday’s contest at home versus the Olds Grizzlys. Blackfalds is 4-2 during that stretch so far. The Bulldogs last played a road contest Jan. 7 in Sherwood Park when they dropped a 3-2 decision to the Crusaders.

Up Next: After Saturday’s game, the Blackfalds Bulldogs will get ready for three more games next week. The Bulldogs will make their first trip of the season Jan. 25 to Drumheller to face the Dragons before hosting Drumheller Jan. 28 and Okotoks Jan. 29 at the Eagle Builders Centre.
