GAME PREVIEW: Blackfalds VS Okotoks

Game Preview: The Blackfalds Bulldogs will be looking for a big bounce back effort Wednesday on home ice when they welcome the Okotoks Oilers to the Eagle Builders Centre. The Bulldogs are coming off a 4-1 loss Saturday in Lloydminster to the Bobcats. Blackfalds sits sixth in the AJHL South with its 12-15-1 record.

The Okotoks Oilers will search for their second straight victory on Wednesday night after beating the Calgary Canucks 4-3 on Saturday. The Oilers have posted a 14-16-1 record, which has them in fourth in the AJHL South.

Wednesday’s matchup between the Bulldogs and the Oilers is the second of six meetings between the two teams this season. Okotoks took the first matchup 5-3 back on Oct. 11 at the Pason Centennial Arena.

Glassford Arrives: New Blackfalds Bulldogs netminder Jackson Glassford has arrived. The B.C. product backed up Lucas Massie Saturday in Lloydminster. He was acquired in a trade last week with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. Glassford is committed to Long Island University for the 2022-23 season.

Lightning Lorenz: Okotoks Oilers forward Rieger Lorenz has had quite the season. The Calgary, AB product has recorded 45 points in 31 games this season, which has him ranked fifth in AJHL scoring entering Wednesday’s matchup. The 17-year-old is committed to the University of Denver.

Up Next: Following Wednesday’s matchup with the Okotoks Oilers at the Eagle Builders Centre, the Blackfalds Bulldogs will host the Canmore Eagles Friday night. Blackfalds will then conclude its weekend Saturday in Okotoks against the Oilers.
