GAME PREVIEW: Blackfalds VS Grande Prairie

Game Preview: The Blackfalds Bulldogs will try and end a two-game slide Saturday at home when they welcome the Grande Prairie Storm to the Eagle Builders Centre. The Bulldogs are coming off a 4-2 loss Friday at home to the Lloydminster Bobcats. Blackfalds sits sixth in the AJHL South with its 13-19-1 record.

The Grande Prairie Storm will also be looking to rebound after a 6-3 loss Thursday in Okotoks to the Oilers. Grande Prairie is last in the AJHL North with its 8-22-6 mark. The Storm took the first meeting of the season with the Bulldogs 4-1 back on Oct. 29 in Grande Prairie.

Johnson: Blackfalds Bulldogs forward Ryan Johnson will look to extend his point streak to three games Saturday versus Grande Prairie. The Texas product has seven points in his last 10 games. Johnson has 20 points in 32 games this season for the Bulldogs.

Busy Stretch for Storm: After Saturday’s game in Blackfalds, the Grande Prairie Storm will conclude four games in five days Sunday when they make the trek to Camrose to take on the Kodiaks Sunday at 2 p.m. Grande Prairie will then take some time off for Christmas before welcoming Fort McMurray to town Dec. 31.

Looking Ahead: Following Saturday’s matchup with the Storm, the Bulldogs will depart for the Christmas break. Blackfalds will return to the ice Dec. 30 in Canmore when they take on the Eagles. The Bulldogs will then host the Brooks Bandits Dec. 31 at the Eagle Builders Centre.
