Game Preview: The Blackfalds Bulldogs will look to rebound Saturday night at home when they host the Calgary Canucks. The Bulldogs are coming off a 3-2 loss Friday in Sherwood Park to the Crusaders. Blackfalds sits sixth in the AJHL South with its 14-23-1 record.
The Calgary Canucks will be trying to end a 10-game slide Saturday evening in Blackfalds. The Canucks are seventh in the AJHL South with their 8-28-4 record. Calgary dropped its last contest 5-2 on Tuesday to the Grande Prairie Storm.
The Bulldogs lead the season series with the Canucks 3-1. Blackfalds took the last matchup 4-2 back on Nov. 19 at the Eagle Builders Centre.
Bates: New Blackfalds Bulldogs defenceman Tyler Bates scored in his debut Friday night in Sherwood Park. The Calgary, AB product is committed to Colorado College. Bates was acquired from the Sherwood Park Crusaders in exchange for 2001-born defenceman Juliano Santalucia and 2003-born forward Jace Benvie.
Minor Hockey Night: Saturday’s game is Blackfalds Minor Hockey Night. Several minor hockey teams from around the region will be in attendance cheering on the Bulldogs. The contest is sold out, but if you would like to get tickets to an upcoming game, you can check out the Tickets Alberta website.
