GAME PREVIEW: Blackfalds VS Brooks

Game Preview: The Blackfalds Bulldogs will try and snap a four-game losing streak Friday night at the Eagle Builders Centre when they host the Brooks Bandits. The Bulldogs are coming off a 4-1 loss Thursday evening in Canmore. Blackfalds still sits sixth in the AJHL South with its 13-21-1 mark.

The Brooks Bandits will search for their 14th straight victory Friday in Blackfalds. The Bandits are first in the AJHL with their impressive 33-1-1 record. Brooks won its last game 3-2 verus Drumheller back on Dec. 18.

The Bulldogs have lost all four previous meetings with the Bandits this season. Brooks took the last encounter 6-1 Dec. 1 at the Centennial Regional Arena.

Streak Over: Bulldogs forward Ethan Lund saw his iron man streak come to an end after sitting out Thursday’s game in Canmore. Brett Meerman, Jayden Joly and Spencer Bell have appeared in all 35 regular season games for the Bulldogs during the 2021-22 campaign.

Potent Offence: The Brooks Bandits continue to be the top-ranked team in CJHL. The Bandits have already found the back of the net 215 times this season – which averages out to 6.1 goals per game. Brooks has not lost in regulation since Sept. 18 when they came up short 4-3 at home to Drumheller.  

Looking Ahead: Following Friday’s game at home versus the Brooks Bandits, the Bulldogs will get set to close out their weekend Sunday in Camrose versus the Kodiaks. Sunday’s game is slated to get underway at 2 p.m from the Encana Arena.
