Game Preview: The Blackfalds Bulldogs will look to end a three-game losing streak Saturday in Okotoks when they meet the Oilers. The Bulldogs are coming off a 3-2 loss Friday night at home to the Canmore Eagles. Blackfalds is sixth in the AJHL South with its 12-17-1 record.
The Okotoks Oilers will be searching for their third straight win when they take on the Bulldogs. The Oilers are coming off a 4-2 victory Wednesday in Blackfalds. Okotoks is occupying fourth in the AJHL South with its 15-16-1 record.
Saturday’s matchup marks the third of six meetings between the Bulldogs and the Oilers this season. Okotoks has won the previous two matchups.
Defensive Production: The Blackfalds Bulldogs got two goals from defencemen Friday at home versus the Canmore Eagles. Kaiden Ellertson and Adam Heindel both found the back of the net. Heindel has nine points in 21 games this season and Ellertson has recorded five points in 20 games.
Singleton: Okotoks Oilers forward Bowden Singleton is having an impressive campaign. The Calgary, AB product has 36 points in 32 games, which has him ranked 13th in AJHL scoring entering Saturday’s matchup with Blackfalds. The 17-year-old is committed to the University of North Dakota.
Up Next: Following Saturday’s game, the Bulldogs will host the Camrose Kodiaks Dec. 15 at the Eagle Builders Centre. Blackfalds will then take on the Lloydminster Bobcats Dec. 17 at home. The Bulldogs play their last game before Christmas Dec. 18 at the Eagle Builders Centre versus the Grande Prairie Storm.
