GAME PREVIEW: Blackfalds @ Okotoks

Game Preview: The Blackfalds Bulldogs will look to end a two-game slide Friday night in Okotoks versus the Oilers. The Bulldogs are coming off a 4-1 loss Wednesday at the Eagle Builders Centre to the Camrose Kodiaks. Blackfalds is fifth in the AJHL South with its 27-30-1 record.  

The Okotoks Oilers will also be trying to rebound Friday evening. The Oilers dropped a 2-1 decision in overtime to the Calgary Canucks on Wednesday. Okotoks is controlling fourth in the AJHL South with its 27-27-4 record. The Oilers lead the season series with the Bulldogs 3-1.

Massie is Back: When the Bulldogs hosted the Camrose Kodiaks Wednesday at the Eagle Builders Centre, goalie Lucas Massie made his first start since Jan. 21. Massie left the game Jan. 21 against Olds with an injury. The 18-year-old from California has recorded 14 wins this season.    

Up Next: Following Friday’s battle in Okotoks, the Bulldogs will return home for the conclusion of the home-and-home series with the Oilers Saturday in Blackfalds. The Bulldogs will play the Oilers in the first-round of the AJHL playoffs, but this weekend series will determine who gets home-ice advantage.

Awards Night: After the last regular season game Saturday at home versus Okotoks, fans are encouraged to stick around for a team awards ceremony. Saturday’s game gets underway at 5 p.m. from the Eagle Builders Centre.
