GAME PREVIEW: Blackfalds @ Lloydminster

Game Preview: The Blackfalds Bulldogs look for their second straight win Saturday in Lloydminster when they meet the Bobcats for the first time this season. The Bulldogs are coming off a 3-2 overtime victory Friday at home versus the Drayton Valley Thunder. Blackfalds is currently sitting in sixth in the AJHL South with its 12-14-1 mark.

The Lloydminster Bobcats will go for their second straight win after beating the Camrose Kodiaks 4-3 at home Friday. The Bobcats are occupying sixth in the AJHL North with their 13-15-1 record.

Magical Meerman: Forward Brett Meerman scored the overtime winner Friday night at home when the Bulldogs dumped the Drayton Valley Thunder. It was Meerman’s second overtime winning goal at the Eagle Builders Centre this season. The Blackfalds, AB product has 26 points in 27 games this year.

Toque, Mitt and Teddy Bear Toss Goal: Ryan Johnson scored the Toque, Mitt and Teddy Bear Toss goal Friday night 5:42 into the second period. All of the items thrown on the ice will be donated to great causes in central Alberta. Johnson now has 11 goals on the season.

Looking Ahead: Following Saturday’s contest in Lloydminster, the Bulldogs will host the Okotoks Oilers Dec. 8 at the Eagle Builders Centre. The Bulldogs will then clash with the Canmore Eagles Dec. 10 at home before making the trek to Okotoks the next night for a date with the Oilers.
