GAME PREVIEW: Blackfalds @ Brooks

Game Preview: The Blackfalds Bulldogs will search for their second straight win Wednesday in Brooks when they meet the Bandits. The Bulldogs are coming off a 4-3 overtime victory Saturday on home ice versus the Canmore Eagles. Blackfalds is occupying sixth place in the AJHL South with their 11-13-1 record.

The Brooks Bandits enter Wednesday’s tilt riding a six-game winning streak. The Bandits are 26-1-1 on the campaign and are in first in the AJHL South.

You can catch Wednesday’s matchup on the Bulldogs Radio Network with Braden Malsbury. The pre-game show will get underway at 6:15 p.m.

Captain Clutch: Brett Meerman scored the winning goal 54 seconds into overtime Saturday versus the Canmore Eagles. The Blackfalds, AB product also assisted on the tying goal late in regulation. Meerman has eight points in his last five games.

Top Team in CJHL: The Brooks Bandits continue to be the top-ranked team in the Canadian Junior Hockey League. The Bandits have only suffered one regulation loss this season and it came all the way back Sept. 18 when they dropped a 4-3 decision to the Drumheller Dragons.  

Looking Ahead: Wednesday’s contest in Brooks marks the first of three games in four nights for the Bulldogs. Blackfalds will host the Drayton Valley Thunder Friday at the Eagle Builders Centre before making the trek to Lloydminster Saturday for a date with the Bobcats.
