Bulldogs topped by Storm

The Blackfalds Bulldogs lost their third straight game Saturday when they dropped a 3-2 decision to the Grande Prairie Storm at the Eagle Builders Centre.  

The Bulldogs opened the scoring 11:43 into the first frame when Connor Poffenroth notched his second of the campaign from the right circle.

The Storm tied the game at one 15:57 into the second after Hudson Foley drove the net and beat Lucas Massie, who made 29 saves in the loss. Grande Prairie took its first lead of the game 18:54 into the middle stanza when Lukas Konashuk recorded his second of the season.

Blackfalds tied the game at two five minutes into the third when Ethan Lund solved Aidan Feddema, who made 26 saves in the victory. The Storm took a 3-2 advantage after Robert Pizzey tallied his fifth of the campaign 12:59 into the frame, which proved to be the game-winning goal.

With the loss, Blackfalds slipped to 13-20-1 on the season, which still has them in sixth place in the AJHL South.

The Bulldogs will now enjoy some time off for the Christmas break. Blackfalds returns to the ice Dec. 30 in Canmore when they meet the Eagles.

The Bulldogs will play their first home game following the Christmas break Dec. 31 when they welcome the Brooks Bandits to the Eagle Builders Centre for a 5 p.m. puck drop.
