The Blackfalds Bulldogs dropped an 8-2 decision to the Brooks Bandits Friday in Lacombe.
The Bandits wasted no time getting on the board. Hunter Wallace and Ryan McAllister both found the back of the net before the game was five minutes old.
McAllister notched his second of the night 27 seconds into the second stanza, giving Brooks a 3-0 lead. The Bulldogs got on the board 2:30 into the frame on the power play when Nick Magis banked home a rebound for his third of the season, which cut the lead to two. Dario Beljo, TJ Hughes and Aiden Fink replied later in the second as the Bandits went into the third with a 6-1 advantage.
Carter Yarish scored the only goal for Blackfalds in the third, while Hughie Hooker and Aiden Fink did the damage in the final frame for Brooks.
Will Dyke made 34 saves in the loss and Jared Whale turned away 20 shots for the victory. Lucas Massie came into the game late for Blackfalds and made five saves.
With the loss, the Bulldogs slipped to 2-6 on the season. The Bandits improved their record to 7-1 Friday.

Following Saturday’s game, the Bulldogs will make the trek to Okotoks Monday to face the Oilers for the first time this season.
