Bulldogs lose close one in Camrose

Despite a valiant effort, the Blackfalds Bulldogs dropped a 3-2 decision in Camrose Tuesday to the Kodiaks.

Jarod Newell opened the scoring with 1:03 remaining in the first frame when he took a feed from Ryan Sullivan and buried his first of the season.

The Kodiaks took a 2-0 advantage 2:44 into the second after a Callum Gau marker. Camrose jumped out to a 3-0 lead just 18 seconds later when Robert Kincaid recorded his fourth of the season when he beat Lucus Massie, who made 27 saves in the loss.

The Bulldogs would get on the board 10:48 into the second when Ethan Lund danced through several players and sent a rocket upstairs past Jackson Fellner, who made 24 saves for the win. Brett Meerman added another goal for Blackfalds in the third. It was Meerman’s first marker with the Bulldogs.

With the loss, the Bulldogs slipped to 2-5 on the season. Blackfalds will look to rebound Friday in Lacombe when they meet the Brooks Bandits for the second time this season.

The Bulldogs will travel to Canmore Saturday and Okotoks on Thanksgiving Monday.
