The Blackfalds Bulldogs finished their weekend with a disappointing 5-1 loss Saturday at the Eagle Builders Centre to the Okotoks Oilers.

Rieger Lorenz and Riley Bodnarchuk both scored twice for Okotoks, while Dean Spak also tallied for the Oilers. Jack McNaughton was not tested much and he only had to make 17 saves for the win.

Connor Poffenroth scored the only goal for Blackfalds Saturday. Affiliate goalie Madden Mulawka made his second straight start for the Bulldogs and he stopped 41 shots in a losing cause.

With the loss, the Bulldogs slipped to 20-27-1 on the campaign, which still has them in sixth in the AJHL South.

Blackfalds will look to rebound Feb. 4 when they welcome the Olds Grizzlys to the Eagle Builders Centre for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
