The Blackfalds Bulldogs earned a 4-1 win Saturday night at home over the Calgary Canucks.
The Canucks opened the scoring 5:32 into the first period when Dylan Clark sent a seeing-eye shot past Lucas Massie, who made 22 saves for his 13th win of the season. Blackfalds tied the game at one on the power play after Deegan Mofford hammered home his first as a Bulldog at the 8:33 mark.
The Bulldogs took a 2-1 advantage 7:39 into the second on the power play when Brett Meerman fed Jason Siedem, who tapped it past Ian Mills for his eighth of the campaign.
Blackfalds added some insurance 7:13 into the third stanza when Tye Carriere drove the net and punched in his 10th of the season. Jason Siedem added an empty-netter with 1:08 left in the third period to seal the victory.
With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 15-23-1 on the season, which still has them in sixth in the AJHL South.
Blackfalds looks for its second straight victory Jan. 12 at home when they host the Brooks Bandits at the Eagle Builders Centre.
