The Blackfalds Bulldogs started the playoffs with a 4-1 loss in Okotoks Friday evening.
The Oilers opened the scoring 18:25 into the first when Ethan Jamernik directed a shot past Jackson Glassford, who made 34 saves in the loss.
The Bulldogs tied the game at one 11:21 into the second stanza shorthanded when Brendan Ross found Jason Siedem, who wired his first of the playoffs past Jack McNaughton. McNaughton turned away 27 shots for the victory in the Okotoks net.
The Oilers took a 2-1 edge 1:08 into the third on the power play after Kade Turner sent a rocket past Glassford. Bowden Singleton tallied on a partial breakaway 15:29 into the frame, giving Okotoks a 3-1 lead. Brett Huxley added an empty netter late in regulation to seal the victory.
With the loss, the Bulldogs trail the Oilers 1-0 in this best-of-seven opening round series. The Bulldogs look to rebound Saturday in Okotoks in the second installment of the series.
