The Blackfalds Bulldogs dropped a 3-1 decision to the Camrose Kodiaks Wednesday night at the Eagle Builders Centre.
Camrose took a 1-0 lead 11:19 into the first period when Michael Horon notched his ninth of the season. The Kodiaks took a two-goal lead 14:23 into the frame after Owen Dean beat Jackson Glassford, who made 29 saves in the loss.
The Bulldogs got on the board 5:50 into the second stanza when Ryan Johnson beat Spencer Welke on a wraparound, which made it a 2-1 game. Welke would go on to make 20 saves for the victory in the Camrose net.
Carson Whyte put the icing on the cake for the Kodiaks when he added an empty-netter with just 16 seconds remaining in the third.
With the loss, the Bulldogs slipped to 13-18-1 on the season, which has them in sixth in the AJHL South.
The Bulldogs are back in action Friday at home when they welcome the Lloydminster Bobcats to the Eagle Builders Centre for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
Blackfalds will then play its last game before the Christmas break Saturday when the Grande Prairie Storm come to town for the first time ever.
