The Blackfalds Bulldogs saw their four-game winning streak come to an end Tuesday in Drumheller when they dropped a 2-1 decision to the Dragons.

The Dragons opened the scoring just 31 seconds into the game when Ty Whitford beat Jackson Glassford, who ended up making 32 saves in a losing cause.

Blackfalds tied the game at one 11:15 into the second frame on the power play when Adam Heindel sent a seeing-eye shot past Eric Ward for his seventh of the season. It was a special goal for Heindel, who spent two seasons with the Dragons.

Drumheller took a 2-1 lead 11:15 into the third after Ty Daneault recorded his 17th of the campaign. Daneault’s goal proved to be the winner as the Dragons skated away with two points Tuesday.

With the loss, the Bulldogs slipped to 19-26-1 on the season, which still has them in sixth in the AJHL South.

Blackfalds will look to rebound Friday night at the Eagle Builders Centre when they welcome the Drumheller Dragons to town for a 7 p.m. puck drop.

The Bulldogs will conclude their weekend Saturday when they host the Okotoks Oilers.
