The Blackfalds Bulldogs dropped a 3-2 decision Friday night in Sherwood Park to the Crusaders.
The Crusaders opened the scoring 38 seconds into the first when Mitchell Joss beat Jackson Glassford, who made 28 saves in the loss. The Bulldogs tied the game at one 19:05 into the period when Nick Magis notched his ninth of the season on the power play.
Neither team would score in the second frame. The Bulldogs took their first lead of the evening 14:48 into the third when Tyler Bates beat Gus Bylin, who made 30 saves in the win.
The Crusaders tied the game at two 15:38 into the stanza after Michael Lovsin recorded his first as a Crusader. Sherwood Park went up 3-2 18:22 into the third after Evan Arnold sent a wobbling puck past Glassford, which proved to be the game-winner.
With the loss, the Bulldogs slipped to 14-23-1 on the season, which still has them in sixth in the AJHL South. Blackfalds will look to rebound Saturday on home ice when they entertain the Calgary Canucks at the Eagle Builders Centre.
Following Saturday’s contest with Calgary, the Bulldogs will host the Brooks Bandits Jan. 12.
