The Blackfalds Bulldogs saw their two-game winning streak come to an end Saturday in Brooks when they dropped an 8-0 decision to the Bandits.
Dario Beljo scored twice for the Bandits, while Zach Bookman, Devin Phillips, Hunter Wallace, Ryan McAllister, Aiden Fink and Brendan Kennette also found the back of the net.
Jared Whale only had to make 21 saves for his second shutout of the season. Joseph Young made his debut for the Bulldogs and the Regina, SK product turned away 29 shots in a losing cause.
With the loss, the Bulldogs slipped to 7-11 on the season, which still has them in fifth place in the AJHL South. Brooks improved to 18-1 following Saturday’s victory. The Bandits have won 17 straight games.
Blackfalds will look to rebound next Friday in Bonnyville when they meet the Pontiacs for the second time this season.
The Bulldogs will then conclude their weekend next Saturday in Fort McMurray against the Oil Barons.
