Bulldogs acquire Young

The Blackfalds Bulldogs announced Wednesday they have acquired 2001-born goalie Joseph Young from the SJHL’s Weyburn Red Wings in exchange for 2002-born forward Jackson Ferry, a player development fee and future considerations.

During his 18-year-old season in Weyburn, the Regina, SK product posted a 2.63 GAA and .924 save percentage. For his efforts, he was named to the SJHL All-Rookie Team.

Ferry played nine games for Blackfalds this season and recorded four assists.

In a separate move, the Bulldogs released 2003-born goaltender Will Dyke. The Lethbridge, AB product appeared in five games this season with Blackfalds and posted a 2-3 record.

The Bulldogs thank Jackson and Will for their contributions to the organization and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.

Meantime, the Bulldogs get back to work Friday in Calgary when they meet the Canucks for the third time this season. Blackfalds will be looking to build off its 3-2 overtime victory Saturday in Whitecourt versus the Wolverines.

Blackfalds will close out its weekend Saturday in Brooks against the Bandits.
